Gangster Soul Harmony Archive
The Gangster Soul Harmony Archive documents the history, releases, artists, songs and independent record labels connected to the Gangster Soul Harmony rare soul compilation catalog founded by George Miller Jr. in 2005.
Created from decades of record collecting, research and discovery, the archive is being developed as a historical reference for collectors, researchers, music historians and listeners interested in rare soul, sweet soul, harmony soul, rare oldies and independently released soul music.
Gangster Soul Harmony has grown into a catalog made up of three distinct compilation series, each with its own identity and musical focus.
Together, the catalog includes 18 volumes across three series: Gangster Soul Harmony, Gangster Soul Girlz Harmony and A Gangster Soul Christmas. The eighteenth volume, Gangster Soul Christmas Volume 3, is currently in development.

Connections to Gangster Soul Harmony compilation releases
Because many independent soul records were poorly documented when originally released, historical information can sometimes be incomplete or conflicting.
The archive aims to distinguish verified historical information from collector knowledge, oral histories and details that require further research.
Preserving Independent Soul History
Many independent soul recordings were created without the promotional budgets, national distribution or documentation available to major-label releases.
In some cases, surviving 45 RPM records represent some of the few remaining physical artifacts documenting an artist, recording or independent label.
Collectors have played an important role in preserving this music.
Through decades of searching record shops, swap meets, private collections and record shows, rare recordings have continued circulating long after their original commercial release.
The Gangster Soul Harmony Archive is an extension of that preservation tradition.
An Archive That Continues to Grow
The Gangster Soul Harmony Archive is an ongoing historical project.
Additional volume histories, artist profiles, song information and independent record-label research will be added as documentation becomes available.
The long term goal is to establish a useful historical resource while continuing to preserve the physical culture of rare soul music through vinyl. cd's & tapes
